We recently sent for the Netflix app for Wii, primarily as a 'why not' sort of thing. In actual fact, though, it has turned out to be incredibly useful. A lot of the flicks that are in our DVD queue can be removed when we view them streamed through the Wii, saving the queue for things ...

I've always enjoyed the film The 5th Element, although my SBH isn't too keen on it. (Milla Jovovich's character really gets up her nose.) Every time I watch it I get a little more out of it. Ian Holm has always been one of my favourites, and his every action in the film has me grinning. ...

I might have gotten scammed? Well, it looks like it, all right.
I'm going to post the details here so they'll get picked up
by Google and maybe someone else will manage to avoid getting
caught. They yanged me for US$47, haven't responded to any
email, the toll-free number is bogus, there's no answer at
any of...
I went to see The Hulk with some other RTP Web
loggers a couple of weeks ago. I really wasn't impressed.
It appeared to be all about the special effects, and, as
someone said, that all happens when mild-mannered Bruce Banner
is seriously pissed off. So you have rage and violence. Whee.
I'm glad I saw it, but I...
I went to the Netflix site today to add a film to our queue,
and was presented with this recommendation. I just don't
see the connexion — unless Netflix is saying that
the Holy Spirit is composed of
midi-clorians..
This past weekend we watched three films which a friend had brought
over for my SBH's birthday. We started with
The Prestige,
which we found to be a very slow starter, confusing by virtue
of all the flashbacks, and downright creepy at the
denouement. In some places it was predictable; I
deduced what Angier was doing with The Box ...
Last night the SBH and I went to see
Night at the Museum
at the
Six Forks cinema,
absolutely our favourite in the area. (It's less than a
mile away, isn't hellaciously crowded, and doesn't
have soi-disant 'stadium' seating.)
Since I'm taking all of December as holiday this year, I'm
catching up on a bunch of stuff — including hacking,
fixing my picture gallery (devastated by a catastrophic filesystem
failure a few months ago), upgrading some systems, writing
some articles (and large parts of a new book), and watching
films.
A couple of weeks ago we received one of these 'two weeks
trial FREE!' things about Netflix. They're not as common
as the AOL coasters, but this certainly wasn't the first
we'd gotten.
The problem (well, one of them anyway) with being a blogger
and failing to post regularly is that, unless your life is
epically boring, items about which to post start piling up,
and you need to take notes about what they are.
