| What can I say -- I'm a mycophile. A co-worker had this really tremendous mushroom growing in his yard and was curious about it. I'm not sure what variety it is, though I suspect a 'Bitter Bolete' (Tylopilus felleus). I forgot to include a ruler in the pictures, but the acorns and oak leaves should provide scale -- it was easily ten inches (25cm) in diameter. We didn't break it; that happened during the lawn maintenance. |
